Wedding Favors
One of the questions I get asked about quite frequently relates to Wedding favors. You know, those little gifts that couples leave at the place setting for each of their guests? Giving out favors at a wedding actually had its start ages ago; Italians gave out "Jordan Almonds" a symbol of the sweetness and bitterness of married life. Today's couples give out key chains, mini bottles of champaign, pictures frames, boxes of chocolates, lapel pins, and so on.
Unless you have an unlimited wedding budget, giving out favors to your guests can get quite pricy! 300 guests at $4-5 a piece can make a real dent into the wedding budget.
Here is the low down on the favor issue: unless it is a small piece of chocolate or other edible food-stuff, spend your money on something else of lasting value: a digital camera for your honeymoon, an extra day of vacation, or a new floor in your new home.
Most favors end up on the ballroom floor only to be swept up by the janitors. If you give your guests good food and great entertainment, they will remember your wedding with fonder memories than if they are given a plastic vial of bubbles!
